New video on Gallium extraction

| Published

Finally, we can proudly present our new video – the second project short film called:

“The potential of Gallium Extraction from Seawater – Another way of obtaining critical raw materials”

Following our introductory film, this video focusses on explaining how to obtain one single mineral – in this case Gallium which is a Critical Raw Material according to the definition of the European Commission – from seawater brines in a multi-step process. The two essential steps are in this case the Nanofiltration that separates multivalent from monovalent ions followed by an extraction through a polymer inclusion membrane that is very selective to the Gallium ions.

The processes are being explained by the Sea4value technical project manager Dr. Sandra Meca from EURECAT.
